Hi there,
Thank you for posting on the student forum.
An educational serial can only ever be activated once, on one computer. Simply apply for a new serial at the following link – https://education.itwocostx.com/support/forum/educational-request/, then run CostX again with your new serial.
Hope this helps!

RIB CostXModeratorHi there,
Thank you for posting on the student forum.
Multi-segmental measurements may be taken by aligning the mouse over the start of the line (or first point) and left clicking the mouse. Release the mouse click and move it across to the end of the first line segment (or second point) and hold down the control (Ctrl) key before clicking on the end of the first line segment (or second point). Release the mouse click and move it across to the end of the next line segment (or third point). A line is displayed indicating the extents of the measurement being taken, each segmental line length is displayed next to the line, and the angle between each line segment is displayed.
If you have any questions or would like to screenshot explaining the above, please email education@exactal.com.
Thank you.

RIB CostXModeratorHi Vedansh,
Thank you for posting on the forum.
Primarily, there are two common reasons for this error. Firstly, you should check if the CostX Database service is running. Open your Services windows and scroll down to “CostX Database” and check the Status. If it is not running, right click and select “Start”. If you have done this and still get the unable to connect to the database error, then this may be due to a firewall or antivirus software assuming that CostX is a malware. In this case, you will need to either add the Exactal program folder to the AV exclusions list of disable the AV scan and run CostX installer again to repair CostX services.
If you have further questions, please contact education@exactal.com.
Thanks.

RIB CostXModeratorHi there,
Thanks for posting on the student forum.
Could you please try to update your windows update, make sure that graphics drivers are up to date and change the graphics driver settings within CostX options (by clicking on the CostX Main Menu, then CostX Options) from OpenGL -> Direct3D, this will hopefully solve the issue.
If you are still stuck, please contact education@exactal.com and they can help you further and provide you screenshot.
Thanks.
